Standout features of the Honda Odyssey

1. Safety technologies
Honda provides its refined and exclusive intelligent suite of driving assistants and safety features—Honda Sensing—for the Odyssey. There are a few key standard features to know about.

  • Collision Mitigation Braking System – It applies automatic brakes during impending and unavoidable collisions.
  • Vehicle Stability Assist – It comes with traction control for the vehicle.
  • Lane Keeping Assist System and Road Departure Mitigation System – It helps the driver stay centered in the lane, especially when crossing without an indication being detected.
  • Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) – It automatically adjusts car speed to match the vehicle in the front.
  • Traffic Sign Recognition – It alerts drivers if they cross the recommended speed limits.
  • Blind Spot Information System with Cross Traffic Monitor – It helps the driver avoid vehicles or objects in the adjacent blind-spot lanes.
  • Additionally, the Anti-Lock Braking System and Forward Collision Warning are key features to check out. Touring and Elite trims also get in-build parking sensors for both the front and rear end and a satellite-linked Navigation System with voice recognition.

    2. Magic Slide seats
This technology is available in all trims; one can move the second-row seats to the center of the vehicle. This gives easier access to the third row and allows parents to move a child to the second row within reach. Apart from that, the first three models have leather-trimmed heated front seats, while the Elite model adds a ventilated front.

    3. CabinTalk and CabinWatch
This feature is standard for the Honda Odyssey. It is an in-vehicle intercom that allows front-row passengers to talk to rear-end occupants via speakers. Other audio sources will automatically be muted during the conversation. Apart from this, the Touring and Elite variants also offer CabinWatch, where a ceiling-mounted camera gives a full overhead view of the rear seats onto the front seats’ display screen.

    4. Horsepower and performance
All trims of the Honda Odyssey produce 280 hp at 6,000 rpm, which provides ample power for a smooth and responsive driving experience. All trims have a 10-speed Automatic Transmission (10AT), which offers fuel efficiency of around 19 mpg in the city, 28 mpg on the highway, and a combined mpg of 22. With a fuel tank capacity of 19.5 gal, the mileage it provides is impressive and meets the industry standard for the size of the vehicle.

    5. Responsive and inbuilt infotainment
Honda offers wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility with all its trims and a 9-inch color touchscreen display. All other trims except the Elite have a 7-speaker audio system and subwoofer. Elite, on the other hand, has an 11-speaker premium audio system and multi-zone audio. The headphone jacks for the third row are standard for Touring and Elite.

    6. Charging ports
Honda has added a USB-C charging port to all trims, but the number of ports available in the third row differs. For all trims, there is one port in the front row and two in the second row. While the EX-L trim does not have a port in the third row, the Sport-L trim has two ports, and the upper-end trims come with three third-row ports.

    7. Interior comfort and convenience
The Honda Odyssey comes packed with a range of thoughtful features designed to enhance interior comfort and convenience. It includes a rear-window defroster, perfect for maintaining visibility during frosty conditions, a conversation mirror with a sunglasses holder, and practical cargo area bag hooks. Drivers benefit especially from the Illuminated Steering Wheel-Mounted Controls and the Tri-Zone Automatic Climate Control, Humidity Control, and Air Filtration. The second row also gets climate controls and integrated sun shades to block harsh sunlight, a feature available for the third row in Touring and Elite versions. The rest of the features are standard for all trim levels.

    8. Standard moonroof and other exterior features
One of its standout features is the standard One-Touch Power Moonroof with Tilt Feature, which adds a touch of luxury to the minivan. Also, Honda Odyssey trims come standard with LED headlights with Auto-On and Off, an Active Shutter Grille for improved aerodynamics, and a Smart Entry with Walk Away Auto Lock for better security. The Elite model, in particular, offers Rain-Sensing Windshield Wipers for optimal visibility and also Auto-Dimming and Power Folding Heated Power Side Mirrors.
